On my way back

•May 3, 2016 • 1 Comment

The weather is wonderful and I am enjoying the sunshine and blossom. The azaleas and rhodies are showing their bright reds, pinks and purples and the layers of greens glow in the luminescent light from the lake. It’s so hard to leave, I love it here, it’s home, it’s family, it’s why I will always be back.  But work is calling, what work, who knows. It’s time something showed itself and I am headed back to Christchurch to see what it is. I arrive back Friday afternoon – here’s hoping its in time for a colorful autumn and mild winter.

Delightful Dogwoods

The blossom is almost all gone and the dogwoods are in full bloom, bright vibrant color catching the light. The pink is especially eye catching and elegant.

I forget sometimes where I am and this morning ordered a large latte!! OK that’s huge and how do I drink it?

I came across this along the road – squished barn, now I want to take a photo from the other side on the way back

Driving here is a joy with winding roads and layers of different shades of green, it truely is the emerald state.

Little French cafe in old town with the best raspberry jam ever.

Tulips

The abstract quality of parrot tulips makes me want to make them into paintings. I hope to get up to see the tulip fields but for now I grabbed some shots at the supermarket where glorious tubs of tulips give wonderful color to the grey misty wet spring weather that decided to greet me this week.

Back in Seattle

Springtime, sunshine, blossom and happy faces what’s not to love about Seattle when it’s putting angel wings in my coffee.

Pasadena

Springtime in Pasadena is so colourful, it it so aptly named the rose capital of the US.  I love the Arts and Craft architecture and the old fashioned gardens. Bright sun and what they call the ” marine layer or haze” which is the euphemism for pollution, it’s still a wonderful place to visit.

I lost my photos with a phone change and as you know by now I am an avid rose fan, but it was worth it for a brand new phone with an improved camera. So no photos this time 😄

Sun sky and stunning sunsets, Nelson has it all ….. I hear it calling me to come stay longer next time.

Lantern Festival

Wonderful warm evening to listen to the entertainment and take in the lanterns and the teeming masses. A struggle to walk against the tide and creative contortion to take photos without a hundred tourists standing in front of the exhibits but a fun evening out.

It was a long day… It was an interesting day… And it was lovely to see Avebury House restored and full of children, but it was definitely not a market for my prints or actually anyone else’s things, very very quiet – sold some rocks and two paintings . Looks like I will have to try again as I now have a whole lot of rocks :)!
